Refund Policy
Last updated:
1. Who charges you
On our website and in the Microsoft Store Windows app, Max is sold by Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC), an authorized reseller and official seller (Merchant of Record). Lemon Squeezy collects the payment and processes any refund that is due.
In the iPhone or iPad app, Apple charges you. In the Android app, Google Play does. In all cases, JCODE, the publisher of WorkoutGen, handles your requests.
2. Our policy: no refunds for a change of mind
Except in the cases in section 3, we don't refund a subscription because you changed your mind, didn't use it, forgot to cancel before renewal, or it didn't meet your expectations. We also don't refund a started billing period or the price difference when you switch to a cheaper plan.
3. When a refund is due
These are the cases in which you receive a refund for a purchase made on our website or in the Windows app. For an App Store or Google Play purchase, Apple or Google decides and issues the refund (section 7).
3.1 Withdrawal within 14 days (European Union, EEA, United Kingdom)
If you reside in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from a purchase of a Max plan without giving a reason within 14 days of that purchase, regardless of where you paid. An automatic renewal does not start a new withdrawal period unless the law of your country provides otherwise.
The refund is full: you get back everything you paid for this purchase. There is only one exception: if you expressly requested immediate access to Max before paying on our website or in the Windows app, we keep an amount proportional to the access time already provided and refund the rest. Our website and the Windows app request this immediate access for every new purchase after a withdrawal; they also offered it, via a checkbox, from September 28 to October 1, 2026.
For a purchase on our website or in the Windows app, your refund arrives within 14 days after you withdraw, using the payment method used for the purchase, and you receive an acknowledgment by email stating the date and time of your withdrawal. Your access to Max ends when you withdraw. An automatic renewal does not create a new withdrawal period unless the law of your country provides otherwise.
For a purchase made on our website or in the Windows app, open Settings, then Manage subscription, and use the “Withdraw from contract here” button, or send us the form in section 8 or any clear statement to contact@workoutgen.app. For a Google Play purchase, submit your request to Google Play, which issues refunds according to its rules. For an App Store purchase, submit your request to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Apple issues the refund.
3.2 Defective service
If Max does not work as described or as required by law, let us know. We will restore it at no cost within a reasonable time. If that is impossible, we refuse, the delay is unjustified, the fix fails, or the defect is serious, you can receive a price reduction for the affected period. Except for a minor defect, you can also end the contract and receive a refund under the conditions provided by law.
3.3 Changes to Max that disadvantage you
If we change Max in a way that reduces your access or use by more than a minor amount, you can end your subscription at no cost within the period provided by law. We will then refund you under the conditions provided by law.
3.4 Billing error
We always issue a full refund for a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount, a charge made after your cancellation took effect, or any charge you did not authorize.
3.5 Annual plan, if you live in France
Before each renewal of an annual plan purchased on our website or in the Windows app, we must notify you by a dedicated email no earlier than three months and no later than one month before the deadline to decline renewal. If we have not done so, you may cancel for free at any time after the renewal, and we will refund you within 30 days for the portion of the price corresponding to the remaining period (Articles L215-1 to L215-3 and L241-3 of the French Consumer Code).
3.6 Price increase
A price increase never applies to a period you have already paid for. We will announce it before the affected renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
3.7 Discontinuation of Max or cancellation by us
If we discontinue Max or end your subscription for a reason other than your serious violation of the terms of use, we will refund the unused portion of the paid period.
3.8 Other rights provided by law
If the mandatory law in your country of residence provides for another refund, we apply it. Apple, Google, and Lemon Squeezy may also grant a refund under their own policies.
4. Canceling your subscription
You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason.
- On our website or in the Windows app, open Settings, then Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription.
- On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. From any browser, go to account.apple.com, then Subscriptions.
- On Android, open Google Play, then your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. You can also stop renewal from Settings, then Manage subscription, on our website or in the iPhone app.
Canceling stops the next renewal. Max remains active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account switches back to the free plan. Your program and workout data are kept.
For a subscription purchased on our website, if you can't cancel from the app, email us at contact@workoutgen.app from your account email address and we'll cancel it for you.
5. Term and renewal
Each plan is purchased for the selected period, one month or twelve months, and renews automatically for a new period of the same length unless you cancel before the renewal date, at least 24 hours in advance for an App Store purchase.
The total price and billing period are shown before purchase. The monthly price, crossed-out amount, and stated savings for the annual plan are only used to compare plans.
6. Requesting a refund
For a withdrawal, no reason is required. The form in section 8 or a simple email is enough.
When a refund is owed, the seller who charged you will issue it to your original payment method, in the currency of the purchase and within the legal deadlines.
7. Purchases through the App Store or Google Play
For a subscription purchased in the iPhone or iPad app, Apple is the seller and alone decides whether to issue a refund, according to its rules and the law of your country. Submit your request at reportaproblem.apple.com or from your Apple account's purchase history. Apple then asks us for information: with the consent given in our Terms of Use, we provide it with information about your subscription and our preference under this policy's rule, and Apple retains the decision. We cannot refund an App Store purchase ourselves.
For a subscription purchased in the Android app, Google Play is the seller and processes the refund: submit your request to Google Play, which decides according to its rules, see section 3.8.
8. Withdrawal form template
For a purchase made on our website or in the Windows app, you can complete this template and send it to us by email or mail. It is optional: any clear statement of your decision to withdraw is sufficient. For an App Store or Google Play purchase, submit your withdrawal request to Apple or Google Play.
